Bengaluru residents find a 'crocodile' on a busy road
NEW DELHI: In a move designed to catch the attention of civic authorities, a Bengaluru-based artist created a life-size crocodile on a badly potholed road.
The huge crater-like pothole has been a permanent landmark on the Sulthanpalya Main Road for over a month.
The huge crater-like pothole has been a permanent landmark on the Sulthanpalya Main Road for over a month.
On Thursday, commuters were caught unaware when they spotted this rather real looking crocodile resting in the accumulated water in the pothole. To their relief, they soon realised that the crocodile wasn't real.
The crocodile was created by a 36-year-old artist named Baadal Nanjundaswamy to protest the inaction by authorities to repair the road.
"A drinking water pipe broke about a month ago. The subsequent rain and constant traffic has eroded the road creating a big pothole. Authorities have showed no response to rectify it. Locals have complained to the BBMP and the BWSSB to no avail. I am hoping they will take some action now," Nanjundaswamy was quoted telling the Indian Express.
According to reports, Nanjundaswamy spent a week and Rs 6000 to make it, just to get civic authorities to get and take notice.
