And, now online shopping website Paytm, mainly known for mobile recharging takes the centre stage with its unique initiative 'Stay Safe, Chennai.'

In its blog the company states how important it is to stay connected in a crisis situation like this becomes a priority so that one is aware of how their friends and family are doing.

But rains and incessant floods also lead to power cuts and mobile network sites being unable to process recharging amounts.

Thus, Paytm realised how one helping hand can make a difference, and it decided it's time Chennai got a little gift from them. We will recharge it with Rs.30 worth of talk-time, free of cost," the blog adds.

The company also mentioned how the heartwarming gestures by people on Twitter willing to recharge for people who are stuck in the floods through Paytm proved as an inspiration.

Paytm signed off its post by stating that Chennai should #staycharged.
