Email Was Invented 32 Years Ago, By A 14-Year-Old Indian. We Re-Introduce You To The Boy Internet Forgot

Electronic mail turned 32 on 15th July, 2015. And little did we know, it was actually invented by then 14-year-old boy named VA Shiva Ayyadurai - an Indian-American who allowed us humans to communicate with one another within seconds.
VA Shiva Ayyadurai
At an age when kids were making their way up school grades, Ayyadurai had already designed a "full-scale emulation of the interoffice mail system which he called E-mail." And not only this, the system was a huge success at reproducing functions such as Inbox, Outbox, Memos, Folders, and Address Book, elements that have now become an integral part of the way we transmit and save messages online.

The 14 Year Old Indian Boy Who Invented EmailEmail turned 32 yesterday. But how many of us know that, VA Shiva..
In spite of this discovery, recognition still eludes Ayyadurai. Lost in the pages of history, he is a name not many of us know. Let's thank the 'Father of Email' and honour him for giving us an outstanding invention that changed the way we communicate and also paved way for chats and instant messaging.
